EUR – Euro The euro was choppy, bouncing around without much fresh news to push it strongly in either direction. Growth worries are still a drag. GBP – British Pound Sterling slipped by 0.25% against the euro, but overall it was a pretty quiet week. With no big UK data on the calendar, the pound is likely to follow the wider market mood and technical levels rather than making bold moves of its own. CAD – Canadian Dollar After a strong run, the Canadian dollar lost 0.88% against the euro as disappointing employment figures took the shine off. With no high-impact Canadian releases due, oil prices and global risk appetite will call the shots this week. AED - Emirati Dirham The dirham stayed mostly steady against the euro (down about 0.30 %), riding the wave of stable oil prices and positive sentiment. But here’s where it gets interesting for our UK readers: the dirham has weakened around 8 % against sterling recently. That dip has made Dubai property more affordable. ZAR - South African Rand The rand added 0.35% against the euro, boosted by better-than-expected vehicle sales data. Looking ahead, South Africa’s GDP numbers will be the main event to watch.
